The Holocaust Monument in Boston, a walk-through sculpture, bears this inscription of a concentration camp survivor:
Ilse, a childhood friend of mine, once found a raspberry in the camp and carried it in her pocket all day to present that night to me on a leaf. Imagine a world in which your entire possession is one raspberry and you give it to your friend. (Gerda Weissman Klein)
This site is dedicated to a way of thinking that appreciates the glimmers of light, the traces of grace, the moments of joy — amidst the dark, the pain, and the heavy realities of life. In these moments of life we find the generosity, kindness and compassion of the human spirit, indeed the divine character.
Awesome – I love it. After a week where I have felt spiritually inadequate, I needed to read this.
Sounds like the bible story of the widow offering her only 2 pieces of half a penny to Jesus. Great stories of inspiration!!
Your share about perfectionism (avoid making the alter symmetrical and/or arranged perfectly) and the ramifications of that advice in every aspect of your life/ministry moving forward was profound. The word VULNERABLE feels “soft and squishy” to me. Being vulnerable requires courage…..so risky. Your story was exactly what I needed tonight. I will work on vulnerable, trust in God and be more open. Perfectionism keeps me closed, afraid, depressed and resentful. I am sick of it!
My dog Daisy and I pick rasberries at Mariner’s Park…..she finds them with her terrier super nose and gift of smelling, then…I pick them and she eats them. She loves them.We love our walks. Peace,
